In this article, we will learn how to configure backup job Veeam Agent free for Windows. The free edition of Veeam Agent for Windows differs in some ways compared to its non-free edition. The most important limitation is that it only permits setting up a single operating system backup job. Still, that is more than sufficient for securing your Windows installation. To set up a backup, click on Veeam Agent’s menu and choose Add New Job.

Once you have installed Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, Click on add new job or search configure backup in Windows search.

Click on + Add new job.

New backup job wizard, Type a backup name, and a small description to remember the backup job and then click next.

Veeam Agent for Windows default backup mode is the “Entire computer”. That means that the backup will contain everything, including non-essential data. Plus, you will need to dedicate to it almost as much storage.
For most Windows users, it’s better to use Veeam Agent to only back up the operating system and then rely on it. Click next

Select a destination, where you want to save your Windows operating system backup and then click next.

Type your shared directory path or click on the browse button to verify the shared folder. If you would like to configure a credential then tick the box “This share requires access credentials”. Click on the advanced button

In the advanced settings, click on the backup tab and then select active full backup.

Setup backup maintenance.

Click on the storage tab and configure it as per your requirements.

Click next

Configure the Veeam Agent backup job schedule when you wish to start the backup job and then click next.

Review the Veeam agent backup job summary and click on the finish button.

Click on “Backup Now” to start the Veeam Agent backup job.

Each Veeam Agent backup is represented by a storage graph that displays how much space it occupies.
